RIDE TO RECOVERY

After the birth of both of my children I developed Post Natal Depression and experienced firsthand what a serious impact this mental health condition has. It has cost me precious time and memories, affected bonding relationships, nearly cost me my marriage, and at times my desire to live.

For the past two years I have attended a fantastic local PND group, solely run by volunteers. It has over 30 members and provides caring support for women like myself. It is the only one in our local area and is invaluable to those who use it.

I know what it means to me!

So - this year I want to not only raise awareness about this HORRIBLE mental health condition, but also help to give back something for all the help I have received.

August 1st/2nd -My friend Cameron and I will be cycling from Stoke Mandeville Hospital, Buckinghamshire to Burton on Trent Hospital, Staffordshire.....some 120 miles to raise money for Mama Blues. Madness, clearly!!!

And trust me we are NOT keen cyclists!!!!!!!

The money raised will help to provide the continuation of the current group sessions, days out for members and their children, event/workshop participation, provision of professional support/advice, provide welcome packs for new members, pay for volunteer training, and enable the groups to run during holidays.

To some this may not sound important, but I can assure you it is!
