My name is Rik Ferguson. My family has been helping Ukrainian refugees since the outbreak of war. We have already given temporary respite to 9 people fleeing the conflict, but this time we need your help.

We are preparing to welcome a mother and daughter originally from Kharkiv who are on a bus, on their way to us in Warsaw, Poland as we speak, the journey alone could take anything from 30 hours to one week.

I am sure you have seen the pictures of the horrific devastation in Kharkiv. Russia has attacked Kharkiv with artillery, rockets, cluster munitions and guided missiles on at least 13 different days, a relentless barrage.

E***a and D***a have been living in a bomb shelter for the past 2 weeks. They have lost their home, they have lost everything. They have seen and survived things that no human should ever witness. On top of all this, just before the Russian invasion, they also lost their husband and father to cancer.

Their story and suffering is unfortunately far from unique, but your help and inspiration is. Please help us collect whatever funds we can to give these brave women the best of starts on their new life, as they prepare to travel on to Canada while staying with us. Everything you donate will be used by and for this family either here in Warsaw, or to get them off the ground in Canada and eventually, of course, back to Kharkiv.
