My sister Marla Joseph is a sickle cell patient, who was in a coma for about one month nine years ago. Since coming out of the intensive care unit she has been in and out of hospital, and due to her condition she is unable to walk normally and even a simple task like going to the bathroom she needs assistance from family. She is in constant debilitating pain and have to make frequent trips to hospital and spend majority of her days in bed. Marla needs a double hip surgery to better improve her life.
