Hi, my name is Rob Atkins and next month (June) I am walking the Pennine Way. I am attempting to hike the 439km over 14 days and am hoping that I can raise some money for charity at the same time.

I have chosen the Yolanda Moore Foundation as it is close to my heart. I want to support Yolanda's parents after the tragic loss of their daughter and I feel passionately about giving young people opportunities to fulfil their dreams and ambitions where they may otherwise be denied. Please read the foreword below from Yolanda's Mum, Rhonda, which explains where the idea for the charity and its objectives came from.

"Yolanda wanted to work with children to make their lives better. She was passionate about stopping unkindness. She wanted to do all she could to make sure children were given the opportunities that would help them become great adults. She grasped opportunities with both hands and packed so much into her 22 years. She was taken so suddenly and cruelly from us and we are determined to ensure something decent comes out of her death.

Using the love, support and resource we as parents would have given her, we want to ensure the work she will never be able to do herself, will get done. The Yolanda Moore Foundation will help children and young people from disadvantaged backgrounds to develop their leadership skills and inspire them with opportunities to travel so that they too can help those who have tough lives."
