I'm hoping to raise £3,650 in order to go to the Kenya Scuba Expedition which will be taking place in summer 2018.
We all know that Kenya is home to some of Africa's finest beaches, most amazing wildlife, and scenery; however, little do we know how much their population is struggling in order to obtain the most basic of needs.
43% of Kenyans live below the poverty line, nearly half of the population live on less than $1 a day - which in British Pound is around 0.80p per day. The average life expectancy in Kenya is just 55 years.
Mine and my team's aim is to have a life changing impact in the local community.
Our main projects will be based on education - helping generations of children and babies by building a new school classroom or kindergarten. Housing - constructing vitually needed community housing from local materials for some of the most impoverished families. Healthcare & sanitation - improving the health of a whole community through installing and improving local buildings. Food & water security - installing new water facilities to provide fresh drinking water to the locals. Environmental protection - digging animal watering holes, deworm livestock and help rangers protect vulnerable wildlife from poachers; and finally, Suitable livelihoods - turning elephant excrements into paper which local people can sell and support micro-enterprise.

You're probably wondering where would all of this money go?
42% will be invested in local economies, communities, wildlife & environmental conservation; 40% will be the program planning, support & expedition delivery cost; 15% will be the support costs and 3% for other including infrastructure development.
