Our Son, Zachariah (2 and a half years old) was born with a rare brain condition, Lissencephaly. This means that he faces many challenges each day, one being Epilepsy. He started with jerky limb movements at just a few days old, which progressed to more violent seizures and absences. He was diagnosed with Epilepsy in November 2015. Although he doesn't let Epilepsy ruin his enjoyment in life, it brings it's challenges and can be very distressing for him to encounter. Although he is on medication to help control the seizures, there is no cure. Over stimulation, tiredness and illness can bring on Zachariahs epilepsy and affects his development quite drastically. We will be running the Epilepsy Action 10k on the 19th March to help raise awareness and raise funds. We would also love to raise enough funds to buy a specialised seizure monitor mattress for Zachariah to help us keep a closer eye on him during the night time.
