What? I am running the Rock N Roll 1/2 Marathon to raise money for teenagers in “remission” from Cancer

Why? 20 months post treatment my now 18 year old has been on a rollercoaster of physical, emotional and mental hurdles. “Remission” is the word you long to hear, but it comes at a cost (a small one when the other side of the coin is loss of life, limbs or senses)

What is the cost? Emotional well-being, worry, stress and social anxiety for some, physical limitations from treatment side effects for others and for some a mix or one after the other of life changing symptoms and side effects.

How can you & I help?

Funds raised by sponsorship will be used with the help of CHICs our local Children’s & Teenage Cancer support group to support Teenagers post treatment. Money will be used to access simple things like a leisure pass/ swim pass, bus tickets, taxi vouchers, meal gift cards and cinema tickets to give the teenagers some tools to gain confidence socially and physically.
