Weʼve raised £30 to pay forward on five ROOF coatbags to give to the homeless to help them cope with appalling living conditions many of us wouldnt survive.

    Story

Its distressing to see so many resorting to living rough in the UK. The mental and physical health of those people, no different from the rest of us really, must take a pounding.

We're asking for for help to raise funds to give a ROOF COAT BAG to every one of them as life a life-changing gesture that lasts longer than a well meaning hot cup of tea and sandwich.

    SOCIAL MISSION

We're not here to undermine the need for social housing, we're not here to make life on the street so comfortable that a person wouldn't want to leave it (yes we really have received such comments....). We are here to create opportunities for people living rough to get back on their feet, have the means to afford to live in decent long term accommodation, pay their bills and support themselves.

While we wait for change to happen for the homeless through mainstream channels; while we wait for charities and their government funders to change the parameters within which they allocate money; while we wait for forward thinking decision-makers in government to see how terrible life really is for people so desperate they have to live their lives on the street, we will pursue our mission to provide every homeless person with a ROOF and the basic human right of warmth, safety and comfort. ROOF is so much better for mental and physical health and well-being than a flimsy tent, cardboard mattress and street vent and so much better than being invisible.

No matter what the official statistics say, homelessness is now a first world epidemic and its time to take positive action.

Every ROOF COAT BAG is paid for through sponsorship donations and given to someone living rough.

Every pound donated goes towards the cost of producing a ROOF COAT BAG.

Every ROOF COAT BAG is made by our team of amazing people - some previously homeless - who have been trained in-house by their peers and earned meaningful employment as a direct result of that sponsorship.

This is the second fundraiser we've launched in the last two years. The first raised £420 which helped us with the development costs for the project and now we've dotted all the Is and crossed all the Ts, we're ready to roll this out UK wide. If you're donating as an individual, thank you to very much. If you're donating as a business, thank you too - please contact us about CSR and sponsorship with tax breaks. To everyone, please share this ask far and wide and we'll keep you posted on everything that happens.
