Hello my name is Rory and I am a Scout from Scotland and I have been selected to attend the 24th World Scout Jamboree in 2019 in West Virginia USA. This is a huge honour for me to represent East Scotland, the UK and meet up with fellow Scouts from across the globe.

The World Scout Jamboree event brings together young people to promote peace and mutual understanding and to develop leadership and life skills. I will learn many new skills and an appreciation of the needs of people around the world.

Selected from 120 applicants, I will be one of 36 Scouts from Unit 90, East Scotland and I must fund the event myself to the cost of £3500. This not only covers my camping equipment, travel and insurance but also helps to fund financially disadvantaged Scouts from developing nations to attend the Jamboree.

I will raise funds by bag packing, cycle events, hill walking, organise a kids disco,race night and quiz night. I participated in a recent 5k inflatable obstacle course, which was fantastic fun. If you are able to donate anything towards my fund I will be extremely grateful and appreciative.
