Weʼre raising £250 to raise funds and awareness to support Rosclare Nursing Home
Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.
The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.
There are 850,000 people with dementia in the UK, with numbers set to rise to over 1 million by 2025. Between mums, dads, sisters, brothers, sons and daughters, as this illness develops, the memories of our loved ones decrease. It's our job to protect them.
As part of a summer programme, our team of 13 teens are working closely with a local nursing home called Rosclare Residential Home, where they care for our elder generation and support the lives of those with increasing illnesses such as dementia. Over the next few weeks we will be campaigning around Kingston to raise awareness about dementia and the increasing impact it has on our society. This will be a chance for us to interact with the community and be informative about the charities we are helping.
As a team we are hosting a tea party for the residents, to provide an exciting and enjoyable day, filled with music, games and lots of food. Only a few donations will allow this to happen, but it will make all the difference to the people living there, as the day will be filled with laughter and fun for us and them. Despite minor communication barriers these we have already learned so much from our new friends at Rosclare and look forward to continuing this journey as they share with us stories and adventures we can hope to experience one day.
The fundings we raise will be donated to Rosclare Residential Home to aid their hard work and to enhance the care for the residents. Your generous donations will be invested in making these remaining years for them the best possible and to ensure they have all the support both physically and socially to continue their bright and bubbly characters. In addition any funds exceeding our target will all be given to a dementia awareness charity, which supports patients and cares for families, meanwhile they continue research to finding a cure for this illness.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and sincerely hope you take this opportunity to help such a worthy cause.
