World challenge provides educational school expeditions that inspire students to take on the world. This company has offered students at my school a chance to go on one or the expeditions on offer that last between 3 - 6 weeks in 3rd world developing countries, and in our case, India South and Rajasthan in the north.
The trip we will be embarking on will be a once in a lifetime trip - it will involve 16 months of preparation starting now, and we will be putting in so so much hard work to make sure we raise the money we need to make the trip a reality.
The money that we will raise will go directly towards our time in India - for the 2 out of our 3 weeks there we will be helping out in local communities in any way we can, whether that be by deciding to build some sanitation facilities for the remote villages we will be staying in, or helping to patch up some old schools. As well as the physical help, we will get to spend time with the locals as we go on expeditions with local guides, and explore the landscape and cultures, finding about their lives, foods, and traditions, as well as them learning about our lives.
Again, our trip will be an amazing yet hard and gruelling experience for us all, but it will bring all the students who go together as a team, as well as bringing India and English individuals together and encouraging us to learn about eachothers cultures.
I am so so excited to be able To go to India, as obviously it will be so amazing to spend time out there broadening my horizons. However, it is a lot of money and I have vowed to not let my parents pay any money towards my trip - I feel raising the money myself will make my experience even more rewarding.
So, if anyone would like to donate towards my trip I would be so so grateful, as any money would help in the 20 months I have. I have lots and lots of fundraising events planned with my friends, and a few donations from here would help so much more!!!
