Story
Did you know that Developmental Language Disorder (DLD) is predicted to affect 7% of children in the general population? That is approximately two children in every classroom. It is more common that Autism, but, it is not widely known about.
DLD is a condition where children have significant, on-going difficulties understanding and/or using spoken language.
On 24th September several members of Ealing Speech and Language Therapy Team will be running Ealing Half Marathon for RADLD (formerly known as RALLI). RADLD do amazing work in raising awareness of DLD and funds will help them to continue to keep their channel running and contribute towards projects that they are working on (e.g. films).
DLD is often hidden and can be difficult to identify. It is vital that DLD is recognised early to ensure that children receive the support that they require, in order to achieve their full potential.
