Cardiff Comets Women's Ice Hockey Team.

Ice Hockey is a wonderful, but unfortunately expensive sport. The club needs £15,000 per year to play. This covers the Ice time, which is massively expensive, and travel costs to get to our matches across the country.

To cover these costs players pay high monthly subs, which unfortunately makes the sport inaccessible for some.

Raising money will help the club play for another year. It will allow us to support younger and novice players without the tight financial constraints involved.

We have unfortunately lost players this season to a Spanish roller hockey team, to university, to bringing up families ..so development of new talent is more important than ever. As the only Women's team in the country (and the closest to me!) it is so important to keep the Comets alive so women in Wales have a team to play for.

To help raise money for the team I love I am planning on skating 118 miles - the distance of the circumference of the Forest of Dean District Parish ..the area I love, and live in.

I am doing this on inline skates (4 lots of 30 miles!) with my teammate Sam zala
