Weʼve raised £9,201 to Help repair the gym after it was damaged by fire.

Funded on Wednesday, 7th July 2021

    Story

The early hours of this morning (09/03/21) the clubhouse was damaged by fire. With the club being closed for a year now with zero income we are now facing the very real possibility of not being able to open again.

Finances are already tight and now with this, this could prove to be the final nail in the coffin.

All we are looking to do is purchase the materials to make the gym useable again when we are allowed to open.

So we had a quick electrical inspection to determine if the heat radiated through to other parts of the club house through the wires. Thankfully it never so we are able to get power turned back on to the rest of the clubhouse and isolate the gym. Thank you to each and every person who has taken the time to donate, share our story or offer words of encouragement it truly means a lot. This money will go a long way into the rebuild, repair (we've found a leak in the bar roof!) and update of the clubhouse.

We’ve had the insurance adjusters in and await their feed back. Club house has been secured, Fife Council putting together a project management team to oversee the repairs. All paperwork/ phone calls etc so it’s moving forward. We’ve had support coming in thick and fast still! Plans are a foot to hold some raffles too.

Building is being secured as I type this, had a quick look around. The majority of the fire damage was kept outside, with the inside suffering the consequences of the fire brigade putting out the fire. Committee meeting tonight to draw up an initial plan of action. I'm genuinely gobsmacked at the response and everyone reaching out with offers to help. Please keep an eye on the rugby club Facebook page as we'll keep everyone updated on there too

Just heard about the damage to the clubhouse. I was a member when it opened with a game against the Cooptimists and we won the Midland League and the Murrayfield Cup. Hope you recover quickly.
