Story
People are homeless for many different reasons and very often not by choice.
The HealthBus project was launched in December 2016 to offer appropriate and accessible healthcare for people sleeping rough. Rough sleeping is the most extreme form of homelessness and continues to be an issue in Bournemouth, as well as nationally.
The HealthBus offers GP, nursing and other health related services for people sleeping rough in Bournemouth. Services include physical and mental health assessments, drug, alcohol and lifestyle advice, prescriptions, blood tests and immunisations.
Our aim is to help address homelessness in partnership with other organisations, to signpost and to encourage long term engagement with services which lead to re-housing and positive lifestyle changes.
