    Story

Members ofThe Royal Warwickshire Regiment Re-enactment Group (David, Jordan aka Bingo, Daniel aka Moley and Will aka Treacle) will be travelling to Normandy, France In June 2018. The group will be marching the same route the soldiers of 2nd Battalion Royal Warwicks took on June 6th and 7th 1944, in the same uniform and equipment the men would have carried 74 years ago. This march will culminate at a ceremony at wreath laying at Lebisey wood just North of the city of Caen, where over 154 men were killed, wounded or captured. With this act of remembrance we also aim, with your help, to raise money for the Regimental Museum.

The route runs from the beaches of Lion sur Mer to Pegasus Bridge near Ranville, and then from the bridge to Lebsiey Wood and then Caen on day 2, a route of roughly 23km. Throughout we will be carrying roughly 70 pounds of authentic military equipment come rain or shine.

Recently the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers Museum (Royal Warwickshire) has lost its funding. The Regimental Museum is the last link to the history of the one of oldest and most illustrious Regiments in the British Army, The Royal Warwickshire Regiment.

Now all that remains of this proud and illustrious Regiment are it's many battle honours, the veterans of the era and St Johns House. We feel that St Johns, which is now the physical embodiment of the Regiment, should be maintained and kept in honour of everyone who served.
