The Round the Islands Race - 14 miles of open water rowing for 2 good causes.

The River Teign Rowing Club provides year round opportunities for local people to learn to row and to compete, if they want to, in local, regional and national competitions.

We also raise funds for charitable causes that are close to our heart. The funds raised by this long distance endurance challenge will be split between the Club and the Friends of Derriford Kidney Unit, which has recently provided a much needed transplant to one of our members. We would like to be able to thank them for their phenomenal expertise and their superb care.

Also, an all women's team, Rawhide, rowed the Great River Race, London's River Marathon on 8 September in aid of the same cause - 21.6 miles from London Docklands to Ham in Surrey. They were the 9th women's team to finish and came 95th out of 320 boats.

We have three sections and you can row in four oar seine boats, six oar Cornish Pilot gigs and a variety of sliding seat boats. We welcome rowers with disabilities and anyone over the age of 12 - there is no upper age limit.
