    Story

After recovering from a recurring Achilles injury last June I had completed a 49 day running challenge called #Sweat7x7. So I decided to become Forest Gump and continue to run at least 2 miles every day for a year as a challenge to help my daughter Katie raise £365 towards her Borneo expedition to work with less privileged chidren, and the remainder to the Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease charity.

I have completed my challenge, run 1400 km (equivalent to 33 marathons!), in 51 cities, 13 countries, 4 continents, and in places from the ancient of the Grand Canyon to the modern of Dubai. Plus a dog bite after 361 days as a memento.

As you can see I have raised the £365 for Katie so thanks so much for all the donations.

That means your donation will go to the Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease charity which is close to my heart as I work with a colleague who lives with CMT. It is an inherited, genetic condition that damages peripheral nerves and because of this damage, people with CMT find that some of their muscles slowly become weaker over the years, particularly in their feet and hands. CMT is the most common inherited neurological condition in the UK but there is currently no cure. However, treatments can help relieve symptoms, aid mobility and increase the independence and quality of life for people with the condition. Please copy the link www.cmt.org.uk for more info.

So, if you think a very average but dogged wannabe athlete deserves a little for undertaking such a challenge that helps the CMT charity, please click the DONATE button and I’d be very grateful.

    Thanks Alistair aka Forest #runforayear
