This page has been set up to try and help my old school friend Jen's big sister Marion in her fundraising goal to get a new specialist wheelchair.

My first page raised £165 of my £300 target which is great but we really want to hit that £300 so I've now enlisted the help of my husband - Mike Norburn who will now also be taking up the challenge for this worthy cause. Surely he is worth some extra cash! haha

Marion has athetoid cerebral palsy meaning she doesn't just need a run of the mill wheelchair for getting about but also needs some specialist features of the chair like reclining and postural support to help her stay healthy, comfortable and do standard things like go to medical and dentist appointments.

Not to mention she needs something a bit more hardy for her outdoor adventures and her wheelchair dancing

These chairs do not come cheap , ( £12,300 😱) And I know from my working career as an occupational therapist even though it's clear the difference these types of quality wheelchairs can make to people there is just no funding within tradition NHS budgets to cover it and people have to fundraise themselves.

So Mike and I will be running the Glasgow Half Marathon to try and raise even a small amount towards the total cost of this. This is no mean feet for my wee short legs and I am by no means an athlete!

So come on dragging ourselves round a 13.1 mile course through Glasgow which includes a pretty long uphill section out of George square and onto the Kingston bridge has got to be worth a few pennies at least!!
