In 2017 Dementia Friendly Purbeck has raised £50k. This has been matched by both Dementia UK and Dorset Healthcare (Purbeck) which will fund an Admiral nurse for 3 years. But, with the Isle of Purbeck area having approximately 350 residents diagnosed with dementia further nurses are required. With that in mind I’m helping to raise funds for an additional Admiral nurse to provide support to families from first diagnosis to end of life care.

My task is to complete a 106km (65m) walk around the Isle of Wight in May within 28 hours. In addition to this, I’m entering an ‘Ultimate Ultra Challenge’. This challenge involves walking as many kilometres in 2018. I have self funded these (maybe another 100km in 24 hours) so any donation no matter how small, all of it will go to this worthwhile charity.
