On the 18th of August I will be taking part in the south west Tough Mudder in memory of Claire Tavener and to raise money to help support her 2 young sons.

The Nailsea community was rocked in January this year when Claire was tragically taken from us and became another of the 2 British women a week who are victims of domestic violence. Anyone who knew Claire would always be met with a smile; she was an amazing woman, a loving mother, and would always go out of her way to help others.

This is a cause which is very close to me personally as Claire's sons are in the same ages as my own children and are classmates at school/preschool. As any parent will agree, all I want is to know my children are safe, well, and cared for. I can't do anything to change the horrific events that happened this year, but (with everyones' help!) I can help support the future of Claire's children and hopefully make life a little easier for Claire's incredible parents, Steve and Sarah, who are looking after and raising the two young boys.

The event is a full tough mudder covering 10 miles and over 20 obstacles spread along the course. This will be a huge challenge for me, so every penny donated will definitely help push me round.
