Hey everyone,

My name is Ruth Heslop and I'm so excited for the next season of my life!

I have recently applied to do what is called a DTS (Discipleship Training School) with an organisation called YWAM (Youth With A Mission). It is a six-month programme consisting of a 'Lecture Phase' that lasts for 3 months that is based in Kona, Hawaii. The vision of this phase is to raise up students who prioritize the presence of God as the source of everything they do and launch them into the nations to partner with and plant communities that carry this same value. YWAM believe that through intimate communion and whole-hearted obedience the power of God will be displayed.

The other half of the programme is called the 'Outreach Phase' that lasts for another 3 months that could be located in any part of the of the world! During this outreach time, we will be taking all that we have learnt from the past 3 months, and taking it to the ends of the earth. Previous outreach locations have been: Nepal, India and South Africa.

I have chosen to do this programme as I really feel called by God to be doing so. It will be a time of engaging, equipping and launching into the plan that God has for me. I believe it will be a time where I grow as an individual and grow to understand more of what my identity in Christ is.

The money that is raised will go directly to the fees for the outreach phase.
