Ballymena Sea Cadets are affiliated with the Marine Society, however each sea cadet unit is an independent charity in its own right. As a small, local charity it is difficult to obtain large amounts of funding, so we are trying to raise funds to purchase a second hand minibus by completing a Sponsored row and kayak on Saturday 18th August 2018 from Toome to Portglenone, a distance of 10 miles. Currently, as we are without transportation we are unable to transport our cadets to Portglenone for rowing and kayaking each week, something that we strive to do from Easter to the end of summer each year. Without transport we are also unable to transport them to district organised events and competitions, or on unit organised activities during the winter months. Please support our young people, who are aged from 11 to 17, and encourage them to work hard, by sponsoring them on their row/kayak sponsorship challenge. Thanks.
