Cookie came into Devon Dog Behaviour Rehab & Rehome in October 2016. She is a Mastiff crossbreed and until we got her, she had not had a great life. She had been kept in a flat for the first 12 months of her life and not been walked and had to be removed and put into a rescue. She was then rehomed to a kind but entirely inappropriate home where her behaviour deteriorated and she started to guard her human family. The other rescue decided that destruction of Cookie was their only option and that was when I stepped in.

Cookie and I worked really hard when she came in to me and for six months no one but I trained her. She is now a sunny, relaxed big friendly dog who loves all the visitors to the centre. Cookie gave up responsibility for security and now just enjoys her life.

Sadly now though, although she is only just over two years old, Cookie needs major surgery on both her back legs, probably due to a total lack of exercise as a pup and a young dog. Cookie needs two cruciate ligament operations costing a total of £2,400.00.

This is a tiny rescue that uses our skills to help the dogs that other much bigger rescues can't help. We are often the last chance for the dogs in our care. Cookie deserves these operations and they will bring her back to full fitness and give her the chance of finding a loving home. We do not have the funds for her treatment but we will not let her down. Her first operation takes place on Tuesday 10th October.
