Ruth Lewis is a friend of ours. She lives in Llanelli and is an artist and tutor. Since birth, Ruth has suffered from 'Treacher-Collins Syndrome'. This is a condition that affects growth of the facial bone structure and sensory organs. Ruth spent a lot of her childhood at Great Ormond Street Hospital in London having essential operations.  This  has  carried on  thoughout  her  adult  life  also.  She  has  now  reached  a  stage  where  the  NHS  is  unable  to  continue  her  treatment  for  financial  reasons.   An  essential  operation  is  currently  needed  and  Ruth  has  to  finance  this  herself  along  with  paying  her  bills  during  a  recovery  period.  Ruth is  keen  to  continue  her  work  and  day  to  day  life  but  this  is  becoming  more  difficult  due  to  the  discomfort  that  she  is in.  We  would  like  to  see   Ruth  having  this  operation  which  will  only  enhance  her  quality  of  life  and wellbeing  and  enable  her  to  continue  working. Therefore, we, her friends have decided to help Ruth by donating ourselves and we hope you would also consider helping this just cause.
