    Story

    Triathlon for Ryan Cox

In my 50th year, I wanted to set myself a challenge. Being far more suited to drinking and partying, than exercise, a Triathlon was the last thing on my mind. I started cycling a year ago, completed a couch to 5k in October and started swimming lessons in January.

I have managed to persuade 4 friends to join me. On Sunday 3rd June, we will be competing in our first Triathlon at Blenheim Palace.

    Ryan Cox

Young dad of two, Ryan, aged 29 was a healthy, fit and very happy family man until May 2017 when he got diagnosed with bowel cancer. He started treatment straightaway and after 3 months of chemotherapy, Ryan was given the good news that the tumor had shrunk enough to carry out the operation to try and remove as much of the cancer as possible. The "Hyperthermic intraperitoneal" operation successfully removed the cancer and he had chemotherapy to follow to remove any further bad cells that might be lingering.

Unfortunately, Ryan found out 8 weeks after the operation that his cancer has now spread to his liver and lymph nodes. Ryan's family and friends are devastated and not prepared to give up without a fight Ryans consultants have told them his best hope now is a treatment called immunotherapy, The treatments are costly and they are desperately trying to raise a substantial amount of money to help fund further treatment to try and save his life, and enable him to spend more time with his family and his young children, aged just 2 and 6 years old.

I have been touched by Ryans story and would like to raise as much money as possible to help Ryan fund this treatment.

Sadly, as you know. Ryan lost his incredibly brave fight. Lauren has asked that the money to be donated to Hayley Crawley who is raising funds for the same treatment Ryan was receiving x
