Darul Ummah has been my local mosque from a very young age. From being a student there, to helping out at their events, it means a lot to me that they continue providing a good quality service for the local community.

Not only does Darul Ummah have prayer facilities but they also run classes everyday for both adults and children. In the week day it runs it's Islamic secondary school while also providing tajweed and tafseer classes in bengali for the older community. Darul ummah also accomadates for young children to attend Quran classes and Islamic studies classes in the weekend. Amongst all of this, they organise events for the youth, such as the Ambiya series, Unwind Summer School and also providing servcies like Itikaf for our brothers on the last 10 days of Ramadan.

A daily running of the mosque costs about £700. On days where there are slightly bigger events, such as the odd days in Ramadan and Eid Salah, it costs them about £1,000 to run the mosque.

My aim is to reach £1,000 in the last few days of Ramadan. It may sound ambitious but we can definitely make it happen if we share this with others. Imagine providing the mosque with financial support for a whole day. It may not sound like much but think of all the people that are be benefiting from these services. You could be one of them.
