My Volunteering Trip

I am going to Nepal for nine days with a group of school peers for an unforgettable opportunity where I will be volunteering at the two partner schools my school is connected with in Pokhara. This will be the first time students from Maidstone Grammar School for Girls have been allowed to visit our partner schools in Nepal so I feel so fortunate to have been chosen to go on this one off trip where I am going to ensure that the children I meet will be benefited from my experience. On this trip I will be volunteering with the two schools in Pokhara who my school have been donating and supporting to for a number of years. We plan to refurbish the schools and teach lessons to the students in English and Maths but also engage them in fun and imaginative games to captivate the children’s learning. I am eager to meet and teach the students and to create a positive and engaging working environment but also to learn the Nepalese way of life and new culture that is very different to my typical Maidstone surroundings. Any support will be highly valued and contribute to my cause where I will be able to undoubtedly help the Nepalese children in the two schools I am visiting.
