1 in 4 women and 1 in 6 men will experience domestic abuse at some point during their life time. 2 women are killed each week in England & Wales by a partner or former partner.

I am Samantha Billingham, I am a survivor of domestic abuse and the creator of SODA Survivors of Domestic Abuse.

My ex abuser split open my lip in November 2006 whilst I held our 10 month old daughter in my arms. That was the last time he ever hurt me.

Since May 2009 I've been raising awareness, educating & supporting others. Almost 10 years later I am still donating my time and experience to others in the hope they don't suffer how I did. I blog using my own personal experience https://sammieb1980.wordpress.com/, I do talks at local organisations including Russells Hall Hospital, Brierley Hill Health Centre and Stourbridge Job Centre and I raise awareness through social media.

In December 2017 I set up a new project called Bag of Life, in which we ask for kind donations of toiletries, sanitary products and old but working phones to pass onto safe house for those fleeing domestic abuse.

On Saturday 21st April 2018, I am hosting a fundraising event where I will be braving a head shave in the name of all survivors and warriors.

3 days after my 38th birthday I will be having a fundraising event at the Hare & Hounds, Wynall, to raise funds for our ongoing project. We follow a strict no waiting list, no postcode lottery and no criteria procedure in the hope it allows us to support those who need us.
