The NHS is depleted of funds as everyone knows. It relies heavily on charitable donations and fund raising to buy essential equipment. I work on the Elective Orthopaedic ward and one of the biggest time wasters is searching for equipment - especially vital signs machine for our post operative patients, they require regular monitoring to assess any deterioration after surgery.
Therefore, I am running the Southampton Half Marathon in April to raise as much money as possible to buy equipment for the ward. I am also running a half marathon each month in 2018 so I can continue my fundraising goal to reach and hopefully beat my target.
