I'm 18 and from Aspatria
I have a disability called Cerebral Palsy or CP for short but despite this I'm an international swimmer and national wheelchair basketball player and I've also just been crowned a North and National Champion with my wheelchair basketball team CWSC Panthers.
At the moment I have an NHS wheelchair that I was actually fitted for when I was 13 years old and of course since then I have grown and my needs have changed so the wheelchair I have now is no longer suitable...
The wheelchair I have been advised to get is the RGK Tiga FX as seen on my cover photo, this chair would enable me to be a independent 18 year old as at the moment my wheelchair doesn't actually fold and that makes it very difficult for me to put it into my car by myself my wheelchair is also too big to fit in the boot of my car meaning it must sit on one of the back seats this is very annoying when I go to college as I can't go anywhere with ALL my friends as there isn't enough seats in the car with the chair taking up one of them, this means I miss out on a lot of normal every day life such as going to the cinema or out for dinner with my friends and has left me very isolated this new wheelchair folds to a very compact size and is even small enough to fit in the over head locker of an airplane not only that but this wheelchair is a lot lighter in weight then the NHS one I have now as the Tiga FX only weights about the same as 6 milk bottles how amazing is that? this would make it a lot easier for me if I should be picked to play wheelchair basketball for team Great Britain in the future.
As well as the chair being able to fold it is a lot more comfortable for me to sit in and as a 90% wheelchair user you can only imagine how important comfort is. I know this is a lot of money to ask for but this wheelchair is the only one that meets all of my needs so please help me get this much needed wheelchair thank you.
