Story
Pics from our most recent race traing trip in Jan
Sam is a visually impaired 11 year old and after trying many different sports, he discovered skiing was the one for him. He started on a dry slope at the age of 5 and looked forward every week to his lessons. As parents of a child with a disability, we want to be able to encourage him to gain confidence in any way that we can, and this has really helped. Since then he has skied in the Regional Team and in 2015 he came 5th out of more than 30 regular sighted boys.Â
Â
Sam has skied in the Norfolk race team for two years. Two years ago, Sam was accepted to train with the Para-GB Pathways Squad at Milton Keynes. Sam, Max (his guide) and myself (his mum) are now starting the journey of training together in the hope that one day he will be able to represent GB. We have four training trips abroad this year; two at the beginning of the season with Impulse Racing in Pila Italy then in April to Tignes in France to ski alongside the Para GB squad and the British Champs and then one more again with Impulse Racing under the guidance of coach Phil Brown In Tignes. His training will also continue in this country with regular trips to our local dry slope Norfolk Snow Sports and our closest snow centre in Milton Keynes (a two hour drive away).
Â
These trips this year will cost in excess of £8k and we have to self fund all these trips so need all the help we can get. Sam greatly appreciates your support.

Many thanks
