I'm not usually one to ask for help or support as I'm quite stubborn or in other words "too embarrassed to ask for help". But I've reached the point where I can't see a way out. After my marriage failed I decided to move somewhere new with my children for a fresh start. We moved into a property (council but I'm privately renting) and it was like a building site. No flooring, bare walls, missing floorboards and much more. This was last summer. I have managed to do most of the walls bar the walls in my bedroom. It's taken a lot of time and money but I'm struggling with flooring. I currently have concrete downstairs and floorboards upstairs with some boards missing. I have tried everything to turn this house into a home without the finding. We don't want anything fancy nor special. We'd just like some warm carpets or laminate that's safe to walk on. I even had to sell my old little car in the hope that the money I make from it would allow me to buy flooring. I was wrong. It barely paid for having a few floorboards replaced as it was unsafe. I contacted the council to ask them for help. But they only have to make a house "liveable" which it is in their opinion. I have spent 11 months now trying to give my children a safe and warm home and I am physically and mentally exhausted.

I suffer from several severe health conditions like Graves Disease, Crohns Disease, Ptsd and so on and my body is drained. I miss having a car as I physically can't walk everywhere. Especially as I'm currently receiving daily injections and the walk to the doctors is a long one. I can't use public transport as my ptsd won't allow it. I have had many many sessions of cbt and I am much better but the severe anxiety is still a constant and it has really affected mine and my children's life. My youngest will be on 6 weeks holiday from next week and I can't even take her for a nice day out due to not having a car. I just feel awful as my children have been through so much since my diagnosis.
