    Story

Sandy has been having seizures for 16 years now which has greatly affected her independence and confidence.

Sandy's seizures come on without warning. They cause her to fall down unconscious and have convulsions.
This means that is not safe for her to go outside on the street or in the garden alone due to the hard pavements and sharp edges.

As her daughter I hope to raise enough money to have her garden made safer by
Levelling the floor to prevent trips
Laying softer substrate such as artificial grass and bark to ease injuries
Building raised flower beds and fitting a rotary washing line to prevent blackouts from bending down.

As of yet Sandy's illness is still not fully understood and no medicine has been successful in stopping her seizures and blackouts.

I'm certain that if we can make her garden a safe haven where she can go and enjoy the outdoors, it will make a world of difference to the quality of her life.

Thanks to your donations we raised enough money to buy Sandy two raised flower beds. She can now plant without having to bend down which helps prevent blackouts and falls. We didn't quite reach target so we tweaked the original plans and were then able to make some great improvements: The uneven sharp edges have been replaced with decking allowing for more space on one level. The porch door & roof have been replaced to allow more light. And the old furniture & shed have been replaced. Sandy is overwhelmed by all the donations, thank you all!

Small steps... I started this fundraiser to get the groundwork done on mum's garden, we still have a while to get to target but we have made small improvements ourselves such as a Dad building this new shed to store everything! It would be great to have the garden made safer by the summer so all the small steps towards that goal make a lot of difference. Thank you for your donations so far, your support is much appreciated -especially so by mum.
