Weʼve raised £338 to make sure Santa’s Coming to the Moss Estate, Macclesfield, can continue for a visit in 2018.

    Story

DURING SANTA'S VISIT LAST YEAR WE KINDLY HAD £55 DONATED ONLINE, WITH SOME ADDITIONAL DONATIONS HANDED TO THE ELVES, BUT WE'LL NEED MORE HELP TO MAKE SURE THAT SANTA CAN COME BACK TO THE ESTATE WITH A SMALL PRESENT FOR EVERY CHILD THIS YEAR.

Santa's visit and the gifts were always funded by Heldan News on Moss Lane (with a sleigh borrowed from our lovely friends at Henshaw's Skip Hire). Unfortunately Pauline has retired from the newsagents, and in order to ensure Santa can come back we'll need donations to buy presents and wrapping paper. We don't want to have to charge a set fee for people who come and visit the sleigh as we know not everyone can afford it, but last year we saw over 380 children - if just half of those donated £1, we can bring Santa back again!

IN THE 6 YEARS SINCE SANTA STARTED VISITING THE MOSS ESTATE, HE'S SEEN OVER 1600 CHILDREN, AND HANDED OUT A SMALL GIFT TO EACH ONE. PLEASE DONATE TODAY SO HE CAN KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!

    Our History

Santa’s Coming to The Moss started in 2012, when Santa got in touch with some of the small businesses on the Moss Estate in Macclesfield, Cheshire. The lovely people at Heldan News had told him that there were lots of good boys and girls who lived here, but realised he had never been able to come round for a pre-Christmas visit to meet them all. Other local roads received visits, helped by some local charities, but no-one came to The Moss Estate.

Initially, some of the local businesses and 5 elves who offered to help him were able to cover the costs of his trip, ensuring that each child who came out to see the sleigh got time to tell Santa what they really wanted, have photos taken, and received a small wrapped gift ‘to keep them going until the big day’.

Importantly, Santa and his elves dont ever want anyone to miss their chance to see Santa, so dont want to start charging people. Not everyone can afford it, and as he’s the REAL santa, he said it was important everyone could come to him without worrying if they had enough pennies on the day.

Last year, in 2016, Santa saw over 400 children over 4 nights, with live updates and a very active facebook page! Children from the estate (and from all over Macclesfield!) have braved the weather, stayed up late, listened for the music, and tracked Santa online. The event has grown massively since it started (we saw 70 children over 3 nights), and we really dont want to have to say to Santa that he can‘t come next year..........

The elves and their local business friends need your help in ensuring that Santa will be able to come back in 2018! Any donation will be greatly appreciated, no matter how big or small. So please, give whatever you can, and follow us on facebool tojoin in the fun!

    THE IMPORTANT BIT:

All the money raised will go towards covering the costs of the gifts, wrapping paper, and any printing that is required for future events.

We are kindly loaned a temporary sleigh (and Reindeer Rob) by Henshaws Skip Hire. There are no other associated costs other than the elves time which is given freely.

Should Santa’s visits not be able to continue for any reason, any money will be donated to local charities, decided based on a public vote on the facebook page.

FEES - justgiving.com take a 5% fee, on top of card fees of approximately 1.5%.

If anyone has any questions about anything related to the Santa event, please contact us through the facebook page, which is regularly monitored.
