Amanda and I are doing the Haydon Hundred bike ride Saturday 9 June. We did this two years ago and said "never again, that was really really tough." We will be cycling 100 km and up nearly 2000m of hills, including the third highest road in England!

So why put ourselves through it I hear you ask? Well, my very good friend, Sarah Brigham needs to raise £60,000 for her cancer treatment in Germany. Sarah was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer, adenoid cystic carcinoma in January. Sarah has a tumour in her windpipe which cannot be operated on, chemotherapy won't help and its resistant to radiotherapy.

Following a lot of research, her best option is to travel to Germany for Carbon Ion therapy, a type of treatment not available on the NHS. Carbon Ion therapy will hopefully stop the tumour from growing or spreading. She cannot and should not have to deal with this by herself, so we need your help to get up those hills and complete the distance. Please contribute what you can, thank you and please share.
