Story
Sam was diagnosed with Leukaemia in February 2018. His is an aggressive form of Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia. The first 2 blocks of chemotherapy unfortunately didn't work. He then had 3 rounds of immunotherapy. He has had a number of prolonged stays in hospital since diagnosis with complications and had a bone marrow transplant in Sheffield (which is over 100 miles from our home) in September 2018. Sam's dad Neil, suffered a heart attack whilst Sam was receiving treatment. He is the sole provider and could be off work for a considerable time. Unfortunately Sam's bone marrow transplant hasn't worked and he will need a top up of donor cells in January 2019 so it is very likely that we will be here for Christmas. We have currently been in Sheffield Children's hospital for over 100 days (15 weeks). Sam still has a long way to go but hopefully the top up will kick start the cells into working!
