    Story

Support someone close to your heart !

They said it would be fun, a challenge – something to aim for ! My cycling buddy Jane, hubby Graham, nephew Stuart and myself will be joining the other 30,000 riders starting in East London and winding our way through London out to Surrey up some damn big hills and then back into London… Believe me it’s a massive bike ride!
Our commitment to training has been immeasurable, Kellys, Farnham Sportive, Guildford to Buckingham Palace to name a few, along with regular local rides challenged by the rolling Surrey Hills – to be honest at times I’ve been tempted to deflate my tyres in order to dip out !
Physically I find myself a long way ahead of my epic bike ride to the pub for a San Miguel and although being lucky enough to have a ride place offer in the RideLondon ballot my determination to succeed would be supported by any sponsorship you could offer.
We have all had our heart strings tugged in our lives for one reason or another and now as Sunday’s RideLondon is quickly approaching I feel emotionally challenged to support a variety of charities all for different reasons.
This month I celebrate 9 years being clear of cancer however through my journey I found help, support and salvation at the Fountain Centre in Guildford http://www.fountaincentre.org so for me a piece of my pie goes to them. Equally as important my charity will be split between http://www.cancerresearchuk.org as I am sure has touched many family and friends, for me in particular http://www.pcrf.org.uk (pancreatic cancer research), http://www.breastcancer-charity.org, http://www.crohnsandcolitis.org.uk, http://www.alzheimers.org.uk, http://www.princes-trust.org.uk/help-for-young-people .

So grab life by the handlebars and donate today ! Thank you for your valued support. Its all downhill from here …. Said no one ever !

So I did it ! no rain, no punctures, no meltdown but a few pre-ride nerves and steep hills ! The atmosphere was fantastic and support along the way was a great motivation. Thank you all for your good wishes, kindness and generosity – I will be splitting my total fund money equally between the charities mentioned and now putting my bike in the garage for a few days to let my legs and backside recover ! Lots of love Sarah
