    Story

    Helping Babies Breathe

Helping Babies Breathe (HBB) is a teaching program designed for low resource settings to teach healthcare workers how to give effective neonatal resuscitation. It is a practical, hands on course focusing on the “golden minute” - that a health care worker can identify steps to stimulate the babies breathing or ventilate the baby with a bag and mask in the first minute of life. HBB has shown to reduced neonatal mortality by up to 47% .

As part of our neonatal training programme we planned to teach 130 healthcare workers. In the end, we trained 144 candidates in HBB due to its popularity. As well as our manpower, teaching and resources a budget is required to cover participants travel and food expenses.

We are keen to teach another 75 health care workers which means we need to raise £900. If this is something you would like to help us with please donate to this just giving page. Thank you.
