    Story

We would like to offer our members the security of transport.

We are a self funding organisation who offer support to adults with learning disabilities. We currently have four evening social clubs, two night club venues and a fun sports club. These cover Chesterfield, Bolsover, Whitwell, Pinxton & Derby. We do intend to grow this even further as we do have people on our waiting list for these clubs and other areas too.

Our area of focus for this fundraiser is to provide the security of transport for our members. We would like to offer day trips and possibly develop into weekends away and maybe even holidays for our members.

Whilst we encourage independence we also understand that travel arrangements late at night can leave individuals vulnerable and our members miss out on theatre visits, cinema visits, meals out etc just because they don't have anyone to accompany them on the way home. That's what we want to do!! We want to be able to offer them the confidence to enjoy everyday social events without the worry or anxiety caused by the journey home afterwards.

Ideally what we are looking for is a sponsor who we can rely on regularly for such events however without this in place we do have to rely on donations alongside our fundraising events which we are always busy and out & about doing whilst providing the current events with the invaluable support of all our volunteers.

We currently have 50 members who , in some cases, we are the only people they engage with, we encourage friendships and the value of a safe environment.

JGFC was set up by Trish Charity & Elaine Bell in 1997. They worked from their living room with nothing more than a dream to support adults with learning disabilities. I have now joined forces and aim to develop this to offer an even wider range of facilities for our members
