Story
Sitting on his grandma’s knee watching the Nutcracker ballet on TV, Saul Kilcullen was mesmerized. He turned to his granny and said – “that is what I am going to be”.
Now aged 18, he is now about to realize that dream! But needs our help.
From the age of 11 he attended ballet classes and was encouraged by his teachers who recognized his early talent, to audition for a vocational ballet school. He has only encountered encouragement and been really very focused and professional about his career path.
At just 15 years old, he won a Dance & Drama Award in Performing Arts and was able to danced 7 hours a day 6 days a week, loving every minute! Whilst there he took part in various competitions with judges including Dame Monica Mason, the former direct of the Royal Ballet. Saul also danced at the Royal Albert Hall in the English National Ballet production of Romeo & Juliet.
Saul has just started training at the Central School of Ballet in London on a 2-year degree course in Professional Dance & Anatomy, after which he will be ready to audition for international top ballet companies.
Saul’s Mum, Delia, has worked tirelessly to support him and now finds it even harder with Saul living in London; providing his accommodation food, travel, to say nothing of his ballet clothes, particularly his ballet shoes. He wears one pair out each week! His small scholarship of £1,000 from the Conservatoire of Dance barely covers the cost of his ballet shoes!
How many of us wish we had the chance to follow our dream - our chosen career? Let's help him, so we can all see him perform in future ballet productions and at Covent Garden.

8 years agoSaul is struggling to concentrate on his training as he is so worried about his mother working 7 days a week and evenings to support him. The cost of his college, living away from home, his ballet equipment and special diet are just so expensive. Kindly give just £10 to kick start my appeal. Saul is a lovely kindly happy young man whose only burning ambition is to be a ballet dancer. Let's help him PLEASE!
