Story

Buddy is a beautiful dog and everybody's best friend! He was the runt of the litter and scared of his own shadow but quickly grew in confidence with a happy home life and tge opportunity to play with his brother charlie every day. Then at 5 months old a horrible event happened. Happily trotting along the path, a cyclist sped past within inches of Buddy (apparently keen to shave .005 of a second off their journey home from work) startled him and as he spun around to see what on earth was speeding up behind, run him over and smashed his poor little leg to pieces. Months of veterinary treatment ensued, and (with hindsight stupidly) he didn't have the insurance to cover accidents. He was in and out of the vets every week being put under anaesthetic to have a splint and dressing reset whilst his fractures healed. Disappointingly the vets had failed to notice thorough tens of visits that his growth plate had been damaged and his leg had started to grow like a bow. He was rushed in for an operation, they cut an inch of his smaller leg bone put to stop it growing in the hope that the larger bone would grow straight. As you can see that unfortunately failed and now he is left with a seriously deformed leg. Buddy is a very happy and very active dog, he loves to run and play and swim. He'll beat any dog to a ball even with his leg, but the pain he has to live with is becoming ever more evident by the day. By the evening the poor little love limps around and can't rest properly fidgeting from place to place all night. It really is now the last chance to try and save his leg. There is a complicated operation that can be performed and the one place with a fairly good chance of success is Fitzpatrick referrals, a specialist veterinary practice made famous by the television programme the super vet. This type of treatment and aftercare doesn't come cheap, so I hope everybody can help with any amount no matter how small to give this little guy and my best mate his life back.
