The Cats Whiskers Rescue - Bucks is a non profit making rescue committed to saving the lives of UK cats, we also work in partnership with a rescuer in Romania to help feed the strays and where possible place them into homes in the Uk

Esmeralda is one of the strays, she had waited over 2 years for her golden ticket to come to the UK.

Despite every law on importing animals to the UK being followed, Defra chose Esmeralda to spot check, on doing so it became apparent that between leaving Romania and arriving in the UK her microchip had stopped working. Unfortunately this means that we cannot prove that her documents and passport are hers

We were given 2 choices, euthanise Esmeralda or put her into quarantine at the cost of around £6-700

Esmeralda does not deserve to die, she has done nothing wrong and is an innocent victim of a faulty microchip, but without these funds the decision will be taken out of our hands
