Hello there!

On our street in Armley (Leeds), we have a stray cat by the name of Webster who hangs around. He's a lovely animal; he was very shy and nervous at first, but gradually he has become more and more trusting. He's got a very gentle nature and is an asset to our little community!

Unfortunately, last week he appeared on the street with an injury to his jaw. We can only guess as to how it happened - maybe he was hit by a firework, maybe he jumped down from a building and collided with a spike on a fence, maybe he was resting under a car and rose just as the vehicle was setting off. Poor little chap!

Anyway, we took him to the vets and he is sorted and on the mend. We are keeping him in for 2 weeks and may well end up adopting him after that (he's got a home if he wants one anyway).

The vet's bill was a little over £330 for the operation including stitching and antibiotics, and he has been neutured/chipped into the bargain. The work to fix his jaw was classed as 'cosmetic' and as such we weren't able to get any funding from RSPCA or any other related groups.

We would very much like to recoup that cost and are here to ask for help. If you feel like being mega-mega-generous then that's great, but even a couple of pounds will be strongly appreciated.
