SAZ MEDIA is a film and photography social enterprise that believes in the power of creative digital media to inspire positive social change. We provide film & photography content for commercial and personal use, alongside providing workshops to up-skill and enrich communities.

We have developed a strong team consisting of support workers, photography and film tutors and volunteers to implement and support a series of unique and explorative workshops that up-skill people in digital media which also generates conversation around social issues and increases their communication, perspective and resilience skills, alongside building connections within the community.

We partner with other local organisations to maximise our learners potential as each workshop explores different themes, for example -confidence and team work with sports photography at Stockport County Football club.

Since August 2018 we have exhibited young peoples work digitally and in print. Our first event attracted over 300 people on the opening day, generating conversations between different generations and those who may not have considered digital technology as a medium to discuss social issues.

We have been able to teach adults and young people to create films, audio, photography and use social media channels safely and effectively as a portfolio for their work and a platform for their opinion and experience. Also using online to seek out learning resources and help for mental health issues and personal issues that affect their wellbeing.

As part of our work providing film and photography services we have been able to offer work experience to young people at live events this has given them unique opportunities to increase their skills and experiences, something which will benefit their future careers and aspirations. Using digital technology to create digital media and supporting others to learn to do so is the core of what we do.

Creating our workshops has been a tool for us to share our passion for digital media and engage with the community. Through our delivery we have supported people to increase their digital skills, communication skills and make new friends, reducing their feelings of isolation.

We believe in the importance for the community to become more confident with digital technology by coming together to create learner lead meaningful content, posting their content on different online platforms and to manage their wellbeing and safety online.

We want to continue to build our social media channels with beneficiary and community led content. In particular we would like to make our workshops accessible online by the deaf community, as we have deaf tutors and beneficiaries who have remarked on the limited resources online.

With the funds raised we want to buy camera equipment for our workshop attendees to use and create online educational content for those who have limited access to media learning resources particularly the deaf community.
