Displacement, malnutrition, poverty, oppression. These are but a few words to describe the current situation in Syria, which was once known for its thriving local weaving communities and vibrant souks. Six years after the conflict began, 600 000 Syrians have been massacred and many more live in refugee camps, that are under appalling conditions, as a result of displacement.

One of the biggest problems facing internally displaced Syrians is a lack of education. The war has created a generation of illiterate teenagers who understand nothing but violence. Not only do these teenagers need an education, but the upcoming generations also need an education so that they do not fall into this trap.

The aim of this fundraiser is to set up a primary school for children between the ages of 7 and 13 years in a refugee camp near the Syria-Turkey border.
