The Scottish Air Ambulance Service used to give out Teddy Bears to small children and babies who had to be transferred to hospital by one of their planes or helicopters. Due to lack of funding they have been unable to supply the bears for over a year.

It was during an flight from Shetland to Aberdeen with our toddler, Stephanie, last year that the paramedic onboard mentioned to us about the bears. When we arrived back home we wanted to thank them for the vital service they provide to the islands and decided to start fundraising to get the bears back onboard the flight. As the bears are a despoke item with customised paramedic suits we need to raise quite a lot due to the minimum order quantity required by the supplier.

Travelling onboard can be a stressful and sometimes scary experience for both children/babies and even parents. Especially when a paramedic may need to do tests and assist while the child is upset and parents distressed seeing their child poorly.

The more we can raise, the more bears we can purchase, ensuring that the bears will be distributed for many years to come.

The Scottish Air Ambulance provides a life saving Service to the Highland and Islands transferring patients for urgent medical treatment and we feel that they should be appreciated more, hence why we are raising funds for this service.
