    Story

This year Seal and Shorewatch are planning to embark on their " Dream ", and that is to have their own Triage seal unit on the North Norfolk Coast where they will be able to access the needs of sick and injured seals that are removed from the beaches. The less sick will be treated and stabilised before returning them to the sea. The more poorly ones will be given the opportunity to rest in a less hostile environment before they are transported by us to either East Winch R.S.P.C.A. or Hunstanton Sealife Centre where they will receive the specialised treatment that they require.Obviously us having our own treatment unit will ease pressure on these two hospitals and enable other agencies to use this facility if we have space.

The " Dream " will not happen over night and we envisage a possible 3 year plan. The first part being to be able to identify a suitable plot of land to either rent or preferably buy..Suitability for access, planning and utilities will all have to be considered before purchase. We have already been donated £5000 and our aim is to raise an equal amount to help us move forward with this project. Our second year will be implementing stage one and identifying the most suitable type of building for our unit to work from. This may or may not be brick built, hopefully this will be by the end of the second year..The third year will be spent kitting the unit out to the required standard and getting all the utilities connected. As you can see we have a long way to go, and your very generous donations will go a long way in helping Seal and Shorewatch achieve the " Dream "A MASSIVE THANK YOU TO ALL.
