Story

As you all know last year (2021) I ran the London marathon to raise money for a good friend and gym mate, Charlie Wynn. I will again be running the marathon in 2022 in aid of Charlie. In addition Team Cryojuvenate will be assisting with the fundraising see info below.

After a long 3 years Charlie and his family are still battling with his condition and the funding behind it. Charlie has now been moved from a hospital to a private care home where he continues to make steady progress however there is still a long road ahead. At the hospital he was receiving daily treatment which allowed him to make steady progress, now that he is in the care home he does still receive full funding however his physio allotment has been reduced to just 2 hours a week

Although he is receiving 2 hours a week of physio, this is simply not enough and can only be increased with his/his families personal funding. As you can imagine this is very costly for the amount of physio he needs and therefore it is vital that Charlie receives additional funding so that he is able to have consistent and frequent treatment. The aim is to receive enough funding that we can give Charlie 1 hour a day of physio/rehabilitation. This could potentially have a massive impact on Charlies progress and of course his closest family and loved ones.

We want to get Charlie walking again and we know this is possible with your help.

For those of you who don't know, Charlie was involved in a serious accident during sparring in 2018 changing his life forever. Charlie battled a bleed to the brain which lead to a life saving operation. You can read more about it in the link below:

To end the story, I wasn't due to be running the marathon at all. This was until I saw my good friend Charlie and his family and it made me understand that Charlie still needs everyone's help and what better way to do it than to fulfil my promise. With 2 weeks to go, training must now begin... wish me luck and don't expect a decent time!

This is for you Charlie mate!

Team Cryojuvenate

Charlie Wynn is a tremendous boxer, loyal customer and a much loved member of this community. In 2018 he suffered a life-changing injury whilst sparring - a bleed to the brain (unfortunately this is not uncommon for boxers).

Nearly 4 years later and Charlie is still battling on in a private care home. His friends and family are trying to raise money for his on-going treatment.

The folks at Hennessey Sports have kindly donated to us a boxing glove signed by their whole team. We are running a prize draw for this glove and all money raised will be going to Charlie's cause.

If you can, I do hope you will show your support - it would mean the world!

To enter the prize draw, here's what you need to do:

1. Head to the JustGiving page here

(you can read more about Charlie's story too)

2. Make a donation of £5 minimum

3. Leave a message along with the donation that says 'PHYSIO FOR CHARLIE'

(it's very important that you leave this message otherwise we will not be able to identify your donation).
