We were asked to help a lady who was in hospital and suicidal. Suffering from alcoholism this lady asked for help and felt everyone was against her because she was an alcoholic. Second Chance stepped in visiting her on the day we were notified by a worried member of the public. From there we have assisted by liaising with charities and members of the AA. The lady was discharged from hospital and s referral made to her GP, basically left to go back to her old ways after being EIGHT DAYS SOBER. When she returned home her door had been kicked in (see picture) and she can only assume home. We visited the home and its no place to live. She has spent the day at Womens Aid who refused to help because a previous conviction and feels every door is being slammed in her face. We refuse to give up and want her to continue soberity so we are looking to raise some funds to accomodate her temporarily somewhere away from her old ways and old neighbourhood and importantly off-licenses. We will uses any money given to buy her clothes and other necessities as well as making sure she is safe. All receipts will be kept. Please note this might be something simple as a bit of lunch or a coffee. Anything to start changing the psychology behind her previous life. We also visited he accomodation where this lady was sleeping on a mattress in the living room as the house was freezing. Please help us keep her strong show her support and change her life
